Tay Board

A lowboard composed of horizontal and vertical lines. While simple in construction—essentially a single board placed atop another—its structure is engineered to counteract the natural warping and distortion inherent in solid wood. It is a streamlined design that balances functionality and aesthetics, made possible only through a deep understanding of solid timber.

The legs are designed for the top and bottom to interlock precisely, allowing for easy stacking. You can freely configure your space, transforming it from a lowboard into shelving. Various arrangements are possible, such as moving or removing drawers, or using the brass attachments as bookends.

Enjoy creating your own combinations, whether by displaying a single flower like a tokonoma alcove, or using it as a bookshelf to line up your favorite volumes. The name is derived from the kanji character "丁" (cho).
