Soichi Furniture Order Event

We will be holding an order event for furniture by "Soichi", a group of craftsman who mainly produce furniture made of wood. From January 20th to 28th, you can view Soichi's unique furniture and woodwork products at amanai in Kamakura.

Soichi's Principles

Soichi was founded in Yokohama in 2020 as a custom-made furniture manufacturer, and although it mainly makes wooden furniture, it creates products that are not bound by the framework. While general furniture production often limits items and materials, Soichi comprehensively produce both leggings (chairs, tables, etc.) and boxes (chests of drawers, shelves, etc.).They offer a variety of materials, including decorative boards, without distinction. This is because they want to be a "resource for manufacturing" that is sensitive to the feelings of our customers and able to respond to their various requests. The company name "十一" which made of three lines embodies the philosophy of "bringing special charm to simple, universal shapes."

Making things

There are several kanji that can be applied to the word "つくる／tsukuru", and it seems that all of them apply to Soichi. They create everyday objects, both tangible and intangible, with their own hands, from small items to large pieces of furniture. The creative emotions that arouse in them lead them to the process of "creating" original furniture.

< Kofu Chair> is a dining chair that combines elegance and comfort, and is constructed from a small number of materials. Its distinctive feature is that the backrest, called a Kasagi, draws a deep arc and is designed to double as an armrest. The seat is made of paper cord and has a gentle touch, so you can sit comfortably by sitting deeply.

The back legs are carved from a single piece of wood, twisted, and tapered toward the ground. At first glance, you may not realize that the composition is as simple as a child's drawing. Exactly This chair embodies Soichi's principles of "giving a special charm to simple, universal forms".

<iclu> is a side table that incorporates abstract elements born from drawings into furniture. The “grains” that look like water droplets on the top plate are An ambiguous shape that can be either intentional or random. natural wood It has a mysterious design that is different from natural furniture that makes use of ears. Each shape has a different height, and by arranging them as flower stands or coffee tables, they create a pleasant rhythm in the living space.

About the Event

At this order event, in addition to existing series including the above-mentioned furniture, new products will also be unveiled. You can try it out by touching the actual product, and it will be delivered to your home approximately 3 months after placing your order.

Representative Kudomi and the craftsmen will be in the store for several days during the period, so you can hear details about the intentions of the products and how they are used. Also When Mr. Kudomi is in the store, he can provide consultations on furniture production, so please feel free to drop by, whether you are an individual or a corporation.
