Kim Sumi Solo Exhibition
An exhibition of Kintsugi pottery by Kane Hidemi will be held in the amanai space from October 18th to 22nd, 2024 . In addition to Kane's collection of old Imari ware and restored Asian antiques, lacquerware works will also be on display. Please feel free to drop by.
Artist's Note
Time is beautifully accumulated, layered. Pieces of pottery that have fallen apart and lost their way are reassembled. Lacquer is layered over the course of several hours, not to hide the scratches, but to make the surface of the scratches even harder.
Time and memories. Layers of lacquer are piled up over and over again.
May the memories pile up in our daily lives. I pray that we will be able to spend a long time together, stronger and more beautiful. - Early Autumn 2024 Seoul - Hidemi
