＜Anywhere Out of the World＞ POP UP

From Friday, June 12th to Monday, June 15th, amanai will host a pop-up exhibition for Anywhere Out of the World, titled "Shirt and Bag Exhibition."

Anywhere Out of the World is a brand by designer Ryoiji Maeda. After being involved in the manufacturing of leading Japanese brands such as Issey Miyake, he went independent and launched his own brand, Anywhere Out of the World, in 1999.The brand name is taken from "Anywhere Out of the World," a poem by the French poet Charles Baudelaire. Starting with apparel, the brand is uncompromisingly particular about expression through materials and craftsmanship, with Maeda's meticulous attention to detail shining through every process, from fabric selection to sewing. The front body of their iconic pintuck shirts boasts a beautiful finish that not only offers beautiful shading but also durable enough to be used for a long time. Another charm is that many items are unisex.

To commemorate the brand's 25th anniversary, a bag line was launched in 2024. Based on the theme "Let's make simple tote bags from fabrics around the world,"they selected hand-woven fabrics made in an Indian weaving factory established in 1929. The hand-woven fabrics by skilled artisans are extremely lightweight and feature a simple, durable design.

This pop-up will feature the brand's iconic shirts and bags, along with a selection of items carefully chosen by Mr. Maeda. We look forward to welcoming you to Kamakura as the hydrangeas reach their peak bloom.
