The slender wooden chopsticks finished with Urushi lacquer. They are made using the "Saki-kan-shitsu" technique, in which lacquer powder is sprinkled on the tips of the chopsticks and then hardened .
We paid particular attention to the shape of the chopsticks to achieve both functionality and delicacy. The chopsticks are made from Bombay black wood, and are carefully carved to a fine point. The wood has just the right weight and a square shape, making it easy to hold and apply pressure to the tips of the chopsticks. It has a well-balanced shape.
The finish is made with durable and safe Urushi lacquer. The surface, applied in layers using the wiped lacquer technique, is beautifully smooth while retaining the natural texture of the wood. Lacquer has been proven to suppress bacteria and viruses, so it can be used safely every day.
"Saki-kan-shitsu" is a technique in which dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on the tips of chopsticks to protect the tips, which wear out quickly, and also acts as a non-slip surface when picking up food .
The "Iron Black" is made by applying iron mordant to the wood base and then layering lacquer on it, resulting in a refined finish that allows you to see the wood grain while it appears mostly black. The "Brown" is made by applying multiple coats of black lacquer, resulting in a glossy finish that brings depth to the brown color of the lacquer.
It is 23.5cm long and can be used by both men and women. It comes with a box, making it perfect as a gift.
Chopsticks are beautiful tools that can perform almost all of the functions necessary for eating, such as pinching, holding, cutting, loosening, mixing, stirring, sifting, and carrying. Please use them in your daily meals.

Notes
This product is made entirely by hand by the artist. Please note that there may be individual differences in the finish and wood grain.
To clean, gently hand wash with a soft sponge and mild detergent; do not use a dishwasher. UV rays will deteriorate the lacquer, so let it air dry out of direct sunlight. Wiping off water droplets will make the surface smoother and less likely to retain water stains. Lacquer will become stronger as it is used, replenishing moisture. We hope you will use it every day as your dining companion.
The product is guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase. If there is a defect in material or workmanship, we will repair or replace the product free of charge.
