The Ardisia has been displayed as a lucky charm for the New Year in Japan because it bears red berries. The two cute ripe berries are red and white, and the single new bud is gold, making this a more auspicious flower. It can be stored in a wooden box and used every year.

The paper flowers are by Aya Yoshimura ( @colorfulpetals ). They are so intricately made that it looks like a bird could peck at them, and the attention to detail is never tiring to look at.
