The wooden tray has an eye-catching cross section that looks as if it was cut out from a piece of shelf. One side is covered with a metal plate (copper or aluminum), and either side can be used as a tray.

The Japanese word "tanagokoro" means palm and originates from the meaning of a flat surface. "Tana (shelf)", which comes from the same root, is also a familiar piece of furniture and is mentioned in the Japanese classic, the Nihon Shoki. The act of turning the tray over and using it resembles the action of turning your hand over, so we named it <Tanagokoro>.

<Tanagokoro> is a product born from small-scale craftsmanship by Soichi and amanai that explores the relationship between furniture and tools. It began with the idea of an object that has "room" for use, and was refined repeatedly. It is a tray like a shelf for tools to return to, and is itself like a tool.

You can use either side facing out. By attaching it to the wall, it creates a small space on a shelf or desk, which is just the right size for storing small items such as writing utensils, cosmetics, and keys.

Hold your precious things in the palm of your hand. Use it by placing whatever you like on it, just like putting your palms together or turning them over.
