A round plate by Toshihiko Iwata. It features a unique texture known as "ishime" (stone-grain), which gives it an appearance reminiscent of ceramics. One is drawn to the lightness characteristic of lacquerware on a wood base, which contrasts with its substantial presence. The round plate is a perfect circle, with the design pared down to its essence. Its surface, which can look like the lunar landscape, evokes a depth that draws you in.
