From March 1st to 17th, 2024, we will be holding an exhibition and order event for Kurashiki canvas bags "fabrica" at amanai.

What is fabrica?

fabrica is a Kurashiki canvas bag brand created by bag director Shihiko Kitajima . We started our brand in 2013 and have been holding exhibitions across the country at small shops that sell pottery and second-hand tools. I would like to sell it wholesale to a major store. Rather than making it available for general distribution, Mr. Kitajima has steadily increased his fan base by working with unique shops that people can relate to.

Kurashiki canvas

Kurashiki canvas was born in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, which has supported Japan's textile industry as a textile production area since ancient times. It is characterized by integrated production from twisting to weaving, and is carefully woven using the now rare "shuttle loom", relying on the experience and sense of the craftsmen.

Features of fabrica

Fabrica's bags are made from yarn-dyed No. 9 canvas, which is particularly difficult to produce. The tightly packed No. 9 canvas has just the right thickness and durability, and is not too stiff, making it the perfect fabric for bags. Because the thread is dyed first, the color is good and the color does not easily fade.

As you use it, the fabric will become pale and gentle, and the leather will become deeper and more lustrous. Mr. Kitajima says that he aims to create products that are universal and can be used for a long time, so that worn-out bags can be passed down to the next generation.

About the exhibition/order event

At this event, you can actually touch each type and color of fabrica. Basically, you place your order and it will be delivered to you at a later date. Items in stock can be sold on the spot. If you place an order, it will be picked up at the store or delivered to your home in late March after the exhibition period.

You can also order online from amanai's web shop. Shipments will be delivered in late March, after the end of the exhibition period. If you live near amanai, please take a look at it as a reference before coming to the exhibition.
